Join in, spend a night out and help us beat youth homelessness.

Bring your friends and join the team in Dartford’s Central Park. We’ll provide the box, you provide the sleeping bag! Will your box have The Box Factor? You’ll have an opportunity to customise your box on arrival before the grand judging ceremony… prizes available for the most creative.

With hot drinks and snacks throughout the night, we will finish with breakfast rolls in our café at the YMCA on Overy Street before departure at around 7am.

How do I register to take part?

What’s included?

We will provide hot drinks, snacks and a breakfast roll in the morning.  We will also provide you with a box. All you need to bring is yourself, a sleeping bag and wear lots of layers!

What happens during the event?

We are planning some light-hearted entertainment.  This will include ‘Box Factor’ best box competition, fun and games, singing around the campfire and a few other surprises on the night.

Worried about having to raise a set amount of money?

The point of the event is to raise awareness of homelessness locally and we look forward to welcoming you all there regardless of how much sponsorship you are able to raise. You set your own fundraising target and have the option to fundraise online, offline or both.  To set up a fundraising page online please register via our Virgin Money Giving page.


Every year we provide beds for around 500 young people at risk of homelessness across the Thames Gateway – 56 of these are in Dartford. By sleeping out for just one night you will raise awareness of this growing problem across our region as well as raising vital funds that will mean we can reach even more vulnerable people.

Whilst Sleep Easy is a challenging and eye opening experience, we are sure you will appreciate just how tough this is for young people facing the prospect of sleeping rough night after night in freezing conditions and in fear of their own safety.  Together we can make a difference.

Where does the money go?

With homelessness on the increase we need YOUR support more than ever before.  Your support is invaluable to us and your efforts and the money you raise will help us to highlight the issue of homelessness and support our work in the local community.

Your money goes directly to the local YMCA projects; impacting your community and helping young people in your town build a future.
